During the first phase of creating Chrysanthemum, I was task with creating the basic game mechanics that would be used during a prototype level. Gameplay mechanics is a key component to the main character , level design and how the player moves and interact in a 3D environment.

Game mechanics for the Chrysanthemum were determined and discussed when writing the game proposal.

  • W Look Up

  • S Look Down

  • A Move Left

  • D Move Right

  • E Interact

  • Space Jump / Double Jump

  • Shift Sprint

  • Left Click Primary Attack

  • Right Click Secondary Attack

  • Escape Pause

To develop a script this early requires me to used 3D objects or free assets in the unity store to test on unity character modeling and animation its complete. I felt that it would be to our success as a team to have the mechanics of the basic moments completed before hand. That way when character development/Modeling is complete I can attach the scripts already developed onto the main character.
